A new bridge between Wilsonville and Aurora has been on the drawing board for a while now.
It’s not a typical project to shuttle people over water, either. Called the French Prairie Bridge, it is designed to handle primarily bicyclists and foot traffic across the Willamette River. Located just west of the I-5 freeway’s Boone Bridge, the new bridge as imagined would also handle emergency vehicles in the event of an I-5 shutdown.
